Junior Club Presidents Leading the Way at the Parade
The Subiaco Family Fun Day was held this past weekend at Leederville Oval. Not only was it a successful day for Subiaco FC with all 3 teams winning in style, but our Junior clubs got to steal the show by coming out in numbers for the Pre-game Junior Parade. On top of this the Presidents all geared up for the very first half time Presidents relay.
On a day with plenty of prizes up for grabs on top of bragging rights, it was a clean sweep for the Warwick Greenwood JFC who won all 3 competitions on the day. The DFDC selected the Knights as winners of the Junior Parade for the best represented club, which will see them receive 50 free Subiaco District footballs.
The second competition won by the Knights was the inaugural Presidents relay which was battled out at half time of the League game. Balga took the lead early followed by Sorrento Duncraig, however in the last 2 legs of the relay the Knights ran home strong to win the signed Subiaco FC QBE jumper which was donated to celebrate 34 years of Partnership between Subiaco FC and QBE.
The fun did not stop there. Subiaco FC then selected the club with the best representation throughout the course of the day which saw Warwick greenwood cap of an awesome day by receiving tickets to a West Coast Eagles game for 6 members donated by the Subiaco FC.
The Kids Zone was once again a huge hit with the young footy fans as well as hundreds of people piling on the oval in between quarters for a chance to have a kick on the oval. The weather held out for what was an eventful and exciting day. Well done to the Presidents and their clubs for ensuring a fun day. We look forward to the 2019 event.
