Lions Holiday Clinic Reaches New Heights
On Tuesday 9th July over 100 kids pulled up their socks, put on their boots and rocked out their favourite footy jumper for the Subiaco July Holiday Clinic. The clinic took place at Richard Guelfi Reserve, home of the Stirling Saints Junior football Club. You could feel the excitement in the air as kids from all across the Metro North region in Pre-Primary to year 6 took part in different skills activities and games coached by Subiaco FC players. The activities featured skills such as kicking, handballing, marking and goal kicking as well as mini games and even a football match.
District Development Officer Matt Debarro had this to say. “It was amazing to see over 100 kids turn up for the event. They were all so excited to get 1 on 1 coaching from some of Subiaco FC’s best. It was also great having the support from Stirling JFC whose year 8 players from both the boys’ and girls’ teams assisted the Subiaco players coaching and interacting with the kids.”
The day concluded with each participant receiving a pack that featured a Subiaco branded bag and poster, Subiaco football and a Subiaco scarf and hat. Community Development Officer Chad Barns commented. “the kids were so buzzed with the packs; they couldn’t wait to get all of their stuff signed by the Subiaco players. The kids were queuing up to get every players signature on everything. The players presence truly made the day that much more special for the kids.”
With this year’s July clinic being the biggest attended Subiaco clinic in the past 3 years, both the Subiaco Football Club and Subiaco District are looking forward to 2020’s clinics with excitement.
